HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Who should learn CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)? Everyone!

Learning HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a simple way to save a life. It offers emergency assistance during the critical first few minutes after breathing has ceased. By offering CPR, you may also prevent brain damage due to lack of oxygen until help arrives.

This qualification needs to be updated every 12 months to remain current.

IMPORTANT:  Please read prerequisites before enrolling in this course.

Course Content

In one three hour session at DVLC, you will learn this vital rescue procedure, and increase your confidence in any situation where a family member or other person is in critical condition. Knowing the correct technique is crucial to giving the best chance of recovery. Pre-reading and the completion of a multiple choice questionnaire are required as part of the assessment.

The session includes theory and practical assessments of:

  •     Introduction to CPR
  •     First Aid Priorities
  •     Compressions
  •     Rescue Breathing
  •     Defibrillation
  •     Recovery and Handover

Prerequisites
