This 6 weeks course is designed to build skills in Microsoft Word and Excel together. This program will enable learners to develop their skills in Microsoft Word and Excel to produce professional correspondence, documents, spreadsheets, work with data and perform basic calculations. Successful completion of the course enhance learners chances of gaining employment.

All our classes are face to face and lead by experienced trainers.

Course Content

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

Microsoft Word:

  • Save and locate documents
  • Identify key information required in a job application
  • Open / create a Microsoft Word document
  • Share a Microsoft Word document
  • Learn about resumes and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) compliance
  • Adapt, customize, and format resume templates in Microsoft Word
  • Comprehend the basic functions and tools in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Excel:

  • Comprehend the basics of Microsoft Excel workbooks and spreadsheets
  • Explore a self-calculating timesheet created in Microsoft Excel
  • Explore a self-calculating invoice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic Microsoft Excel formulas
  • Complete an expenses spreadsheet
  • Apply self-calculating GST on items in a spreadsheet
  • Learn to organise, print, and export Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

Materials Fee of $15 (Optional)

Funded Fee: Applies to all Australian or New Zealand Citizens, Holder of an Australian permanent visa, An Asylum seeker holding a valid visa that confers eligibility for Skills First training.

Concession Fee: Applies only to holders of a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold Card

Full Fee: Applies to those who do not qualify for government funding, ie. overseas residents and school students
