Prerequisites: Completion of Beginners Barista Course or equivalent experience

Course Content

Course Outline:

Day 1:

Extraction profiles and what they mean: Understand the nuances of espresso extraction and how to manipulate variables for optimal flavor.
Dialling in your espresso: Fine-tune grind size, dose, and extraction time for the perfect shot.
Grinder cleaning and adjustment: Learn essential maintenance tasks for consistent, high-quality coffee grounds.
Basic Espresso machine Maintenance and cleaning: Keep your espresso machine running smoothly with proper maintenance techniques.

Day 2:

Advanced milk texturing: Master the art of achieving ideal milk texture and temperature.
Pouring techniques: Learn to create visually stunning designs in lattes and cappuccinos.

Day 3:

Coffee art: Explore the principles and techniques of creating intricate designs in coffee foam.
Practice runs: Refine your skills with hands-on practice sessions guided by experienced instructors.

Funded Fee: Applies to Australian or New Zealand Citizens, Holder of an Australian permanent visa, An Asylum seeker holding a valid visa that confers eligibility for Skills First training.

Concession Fee: Applies only to holders of a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold Card

Full Fee: Applies to those who do not qualify for government funding, ie. overseas residents and school students

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.
