Looking for a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga class in Greensborough? Our 10-week Introduction to Gita Yoga is designed for adults of all ages who want to feel more balanced, calm, and connected—without needing to be flexible or experienced.
Whether you’re brand new to yoga or returning after a break, this type of yoga practice creates a safe and supportive environment to explore movement, breathwork, and relaxation at a comfortable pace.

What Is Gita Yoga?

Gita Yoga is a practice of ten sequential postures that balances the body, mind and spirit. The more you practice, the more benefits you receive. It combines gentle physical postures, conscious breathing (pranayama), and guided relaxation to restore energy and calm the nervous system.

Unlike fast-paced or gym-style yoga, Gita Yoga focuses on mindfulness, self-awareness, and lifelong wellbeing—perfect for those looking for a slower, more intentional approach.

What You’ll Learn

Each week, you’ll be guided through:

  1. Gentle and classical yoga postures to improve flexibility, posture and mobility
  2. Breathing techniques to manage stress and boost mental clarity
  3. Relaxation and meditation to restore calm and focus
  4. A deeper understanding of yoga philosophy and purpose
  5. Tools to feel more grounded and resilient in everyday life

Who this course is for:

Adults who are reasonably mobile and able to get on and off the floor. No prior yoga experience is needed. Please consult your GP if you have joint replacements or other health concerns. Individuals experiencing glaucoma are unable to participate in this class.

What to bring:

  1. Yoga mat
  2. One or two yoga blocks
  3. Small cushion
  4. A small blanket for relaxation
