An introduction to the Finer Points of Photography

Join Australia’s leading landscape photographer, Peter Walton, for a four-week journey into the world of photography. Peter will explain everything in plain English, so you can focus on improving your skills.

What you will learn during the four weeks:

– How cameras work and what all the technical jargon means
– Tips for creating more compelling compositions
– The art of portrait and macro photography through hands-on exercises
– How to use image editing software like Photoshop to enhance your photos

By the end of this course you’ll know how to create images that:

–   You’ll be proud to hang on your wall
–   That tell a story, and
–   Say something about your subject

Who should take this course?

–   Beginners who are keen to fast track their knowledge,
–   Those who are comfortable with their cameras but want to learn more,
–   Experienced photographers aiming for higher levels of proficiency.

Peter Walton

Peter Walton is a Melbourne based photographer with a lifetime of professional experience. He is acknowledged as one of Australia’s finest landscape photographers. He’s been romancing Australia with his camera for well over 40 years. His iconic images have been widely used by advertising agencies, the travel industry, in Australian landscape calendars and coffee table books.

As a teenager he became hooked on the magic of creating images and decided to make photography his full-time profession and eventually set up his own studio in South Melbourne. He studied advertising at RMIT in order to promote his new venture. It was a decision that led to many amazing photo opportunities. When digital photography arrived he set up Australia’s first digital image library, Australian Scenics. It proved very successful and led to him being awarded numerous international travel assignments.
