There are no specific academic entry requirements for this course, however applicants must complete a Pre-Training interview and a literacy and numeracy (LL&N) test. This helps us check if the course is suitable for you, and what support you may need to successfully complete it. Working with Children Check and Police Clearance. You will need one or both of these to complete a practical placement if part of your course.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
DVLC will recognise AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation. DVLC will offer students the opportunity for their previous formal and informal skills to be recognised through the Recognition of Prior Learning process. Assessment for RPL will be done on a unit by unit basis. Students will need to demonstrate that they have met the assessment requirements including practical training hours.
