Learn practical first aid and CPR skills in a friendly, face-to-face class at Diamond Valley Learning Centre in Greensborough.
Our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course gives you the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of emergency situations at work, at home, or in the community. This course includes CPR training and is suitable for workplace first aid requirements, community volunteers, carers, parents, students, and anyone who wants to feel more confident in an emergency.
The Provide First Aid course, often known as Apply First Aid, Level 2 First Aid, or Workplace First Aid, provides important life-saving skills that may be required for employment, volunteering, study, or workplace compliance.
This course is delivered face-to-face at DVLC and includes both theory and practical assessment. Before attending class, you will need to complete online pre-learning and a pre-test through the student portal.
This course supersedes HLTAID003 Provide First Aid.
During the course, you will learn how to:
To keep your skills current, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid should be updated every 3 years.
The CPR unit, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, should be updated every 12 months so you remain confident and current in performing life-saving CPR.
DVLC can arrange off-site group first aid training for workplaces, community groups and organisations.

IMPORTANT: Please read the prerequisites before enrolling in this course.

Upon successful completion of the course, a Statement of Attainment will be issued to the participant.
Please read these requirements carefully before enrolling.
All students completing nationally recognised training must have a Unique Student Identifier, USI. You will need your USI before your Statement of Attainment can be issued.
After enrolling, you will receive access to the student portal. You must complete the required pre-reading and online pre-test before attending class.
Students who do not complete the online pre-test before the course date will not be able to enter the class.
To be assessed as competent, participants must be able to complete a 2-minute practical CPR demonstration on an adult manikin placed on the floor.
Please wear comfortable clothing so you can take part in the practical activities.
Refunds, Cancellations and Rescheduling :
Cancellations
– A full refund or transfer to another available course date will be provided if DVLC receives the cancellation request at least 5 business days before the scheduled course date.
– Cancellations received less than 5 business days before the course date are not eligible for a refund.
– If DVLC cancels or reschedules a course, students will be offered the option to transfer to another available course date or a full refund.
Rescheduling
– A free one-time reschedule is available for requests made at least 5 business days before the course date. Any subsequent rescheduling will be subject to a $50 administration fee.
– If a rescheduling request is made less than 5 business days before the original booked course date, a $50.00 administration fee will apply.
– Rescheduling is subject to course availability. DVLC will do its best to offer an alternative date where possible.
Non-attendance, late arrival or incomplete requirements
– Students who do not attend, arrive late, or are unable to complete the required course components on the day will not be eligible for a refund.
– DVLC may consider a request to reschedule in extenuating circumstances, subject to availability and at DVLC’s discretion. Extenuating circumstances do not include unexpected traffic, public transport delays, arriving to the wrong venue, new work commitments,running late, etc.
How to request a refund or reschedule
– All applications for fee refunds and reschedule must be made in writing and must be submitted to reception or emailed to courses@dvlc.org.au for approval.
