DVLC has a volunteering opportunity available in Term 4, 2019 and possibly in 2020 as well.  We are running Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) classes in Bundoora from mid-November and we will need a volunteer in class with the teacher to help manage this multi-level class and provide student support.  Most students do not speak English, or only very little, and most of them are Chinese so a volunteer who speaks Mandarin would be very useful but not essential.   A retired EAL teacher would be ideal.

Classes will be held over five weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays with two sessions on each day.  We would like to get at least two volunteers – one for each day but if you are prepared to volunteer on both days then that would be great. Alternatively, you can volunteer for the first or second session on either day.

Details:

Days: Mondays & Tuesdays 18/11/19 – 17/12/19

Times: 11.45am – 1.45 pm, (tea/snack break for 15 minutes), 2.00 – 3.15 pm

Venue: 35 Copernicus Crescent, Bundoora (DNECH – Darebin North East Community Hub)

Parking at rear.

Please send your application to courses@dvlc.org.au by close of business on Thursday, 14 November 2019.
