Do you already know the basics of Microsoft Excel and want to take your skills further? This course is designed for learners who are ready to move beyond simple spreadsheets and start using Excel more confidently for work, study, business or everyday tasks.

Excel Skills Level 2 is a great next step for people who have completed our Introduction to Microsoft Word and Excel course, as well as anyone who already has basic Excel knowledge and wants to improve their spreadsheet skills.

Over 6 weeks, you will learn practical Excel tools that can help you organise information, work with formulas, analyse data, reduce errors and save time. The course is delivered in a supportive classroom environment, with step-by-step guidance so you can practise as you learn.

What You Will Learn

This course will help you develop a stronger understanding of Excel and how it can be used more effectively. You will explore useful functions, formatting techniques and data tools that are commonly used in workplaces, small businesses and administration roles.

Course topics include:

  1. Formulas and Special Functions: Explore the power of Excel formulas, including SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE, and IF statements, to streamline your data analysis processes.
  2. Texts and Numbers in Excel: Learn effective techniques for manipulating and managing text and numerical data within Excel.
  3. Relative & Absolute References: Master the art of using relative and absolute references to efficiently navigate and manipulate data across Excel spreadsheets.
  4. Macros: Automate repetitive tasks and boost your productivity by creating and deploying macros in Excel.
  5. VLookup vs. SumIf: Understand the differences between VLOOKUP and SUMIF functions and learn when to use each to extract valuable insights from your data.
