Introduction to Community Services

This is a taster course for those wishing to work in the community sector but have no knowledge or skills on how to go about it. The course provides information about working in the community services sector, explores the sector’s range of services and introduces some of the acronyms and language used in the sector, preparing one to work in the community sector.

Students will be able to make decisions on future career choices within the sector or further studies. Vocational pathway to the program is certificate II & III in Community Service.

This course will help you:

  • To prepare for employment as well as accredited courses such as the Health
    Services and Community Services.
  • To explore the possibilities for work in roles such as Health Services Assistant, Personal
    Care Assistant/Personal Care Worker, Disability Support Worker.

Materials Fee of $19.95 (Optional)

Funded Fee: Applies to Australian or New Zealand Citizens, Holder of an Australian permanent visa, An Asylum seeker holding a valid visa that confers eligibility for Skills First training.

Concession Fee: Applies only to holders of a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold Card

Full Fee: Applies to those who do not qualify for government funding, ie. overseas residents and school students

Make payment in full on enrolment either by cash, credit card or EFTPOS. In some circumstances, it is possible to arrange a payment plan. Conditions apply.

To finalise your enrolment, you will be asked to present your Medicare card, Drivers License and concession (if applicable) at reception for us to sight and photocopy. This is for proof of Australian residency purposes.
