Take control of your camera and learn how to capture beautiful, high-quality images.

This beginner-friendly course is perfect for anyone with little or no photography experience. If you have been using your camera in auto mode and want to learn how to confidently use manual settings, this course is for you.

What You Will Learn

In this practical, easy-to-understand course, you will:

  1. Learn how your camera works, including key functions and settings
  2. Understand the basics of exposure, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO
  3. Discover how to move beyond auto mode and take full control of your camera
  4. Explore simple composition techniques to improve your photos
  5. Be introduced to editing basics using software such as Photoshop to enhance your images

You will gain the skills to take photos you are proud to share, whether you are capturing portraits, landscapes, close-ups, or everyday moments.

Who Should Attend

This course is ideal for:

  1. Beginners with no previous photography experience
  2. People who use their camera in auto mode and want to learn how to use manual settings
  3. Anyone who wants to feel more confident using their camera

You can bring along your digital cameras, including compact cameras or DSLRs.

Funded Fee: Applies to all Australian or New Zealand Citizens, Holder of an Australian permanent visa, An Asylum seeker holding a valid visa that confers eligibility for Skills First training.

Concession Fee: Applies only to holders of a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran’s Gold Card

Full Fee: Applies to those who do not qualify for government funding, ie. overseas residents and school students

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

Facilitator

Kalimna has been a commercial photographer for many years. Learning the art of photography before digital. She previously photographed weddings and families. Now she takes photos at the Alphington Community Centre where she works part time, and creates custom books from clients own photo collections. This is something she loves doing. Digitising, restoring and collating photo histories into personal projects for each client. Kalimna loves the storytelling and digital photography with it’s many creative advantages.
