What is Gig Economy:
The gig economy is a system where individuals offer services to consumers through digital platforms or marketplaces and are paid a fee. This arrangement allows consumers to have more options and flexibility in their day-to-day lives.
Some common gig economy services in Australia include:
– Ride-sharing services: Consumers can book an individual to drive them to their desired destination.
– Delivery services for a fee: Consumers can hire an individual to deliver food or other items to them.
– Personal services for a fee: Consumers can engage an individual to provide creative or professional services such as graphic design and web development, or complete odd jobs like assembling furniture and house painting.
