Learn the Art and Business of Floral Design and gain your Certificate II in Floristry (SFL20110) to work as a Florist Shop Assistant or lead into your Certificate III to qualify as a Florist.
The floristry course provides you with the creative skills needed to start your career in the floristry industry. The course focuses on all aspects of floristry techniques including hand held, wired and base medium designs. You will also gain knowledge in retail skills that will enable you to work in this colourful industry.

Our weekly classes are a mixture of floral design and theory. Skills taught include practical design and floral arrangement, care of flowers, botanical identification and retail skills.
The practical floral arrangements certificate includes using bases such as oasis and baskets, basic hand tying and wiring. Students will complete one or more arrangement each week. Students should also allow a few extra hours to complete assessments in their own time.
Students will also have the opportunity to work on special interest projects and the opportunity to enter competitions (dates will be given in advance).
Please note that the flowers and specialist materials for these activities are not included in the fees.
