Another ACE award for DVLC
Last year we won Outstanding ACE Organisation, this year one of our teachers won an award.
Sue Paull was awarded "Outstanding ACE Practitioner" at the Victorian ACE Awards. Sue is the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Coordinator at the Diamond Valley Learning Centre. She also teaches English as a second language and literacy. This award recognises Sue's commitment to teaching and the field of adult education in the community. Our students took great pleasure in recommending Sue for this award and were thrilled when she was announced joint winner as she has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of students over the years.
Congratulations Sue!!!
End of Term BBQ
On Friday 27th June we held our end of term BBQ. This was a great opportunity for staff and students to together and celebrate a great term of achievements. The day was also used as a special fundraising effort for Apollo Parkways Primary School to assist with much needed funds to replace items that were lost in the recent devastating fire.
Those who attended the BBQ also participated in games, donating coins to participate. There were raffle prizes that also helped raise money. The total raised at the end of the day was $294.70 - well done to all who participated.
Special thanks to those who organised and donated prizes for the raffle and to all the classes who bought food and drinks and helped make the day such a success.
