IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
Fees for Funded Courses:
Tuition Fee: Accredited courses with this symbol
are partially funded by Adult Community and Further Education and eligible students are required to pay a 'Tuition Fee' of $1.37 per delivery hour. (Basic Rate - see below)
Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF): All courses of 8 hours or more attract a Student Services and Amenities Fee. DVLC would like to encourage students to study more than one subject, therefore the SSAF will be waived for the second concurrent course. A maximum SSAF of $100 for three or more courses per semester in 2008 will apply.
There are three tiers of Tuition Fees for funded courses:
Standard Rate: For students who are not in any of the ACFE priority groups ^^ or not eligible for concession.
Basic Rate: For students who are in one of the ACFE priority groups^^, but not eligible for concession.
Concession Rate: For holders of Health Care, Pension and Veteran's Gold Cards. A current card must be shown at enrolment and details recorded on enrolment form. In accordance with state government policy for funded courses, DVLC charges one Tuition Fee for the year ($55) plus SSAF for each additional ACFE-funded course.
^^ The ACFE Priority groups are: learners who wish to gain basic skills; learners with no previous educational qualifications; learners with a disability; Koories; men aged 45+; people aged 55+; young people aged 15-19; people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD).
In cases of extreme hardship students may apply for fee consideration.
Fees for Non-Funded Courses:
Fees are GST inclusive. Fees are not split into Tuition and SSAF.
A Standard Fee is payable for every course, unless the concession rate applies.
The Concession Fee applies to holders of Health Care, Pension, Veteran's Gold and Seniors Concession Cards. A current card must be shown and details recorded on enrolment form. The concession fee applies to every course.
Other Charges:
Computer Levy: To help maintain the computer facilities at optimum performance level.
Club Levy: For courses who have no tutor. This levy is to cover the costs associated with using the rooms and facilities.
Some course will have materials/manuals charges included in the fees and/or students will be required to buy textbooks. More information is available in our Fees Policy.
Who can enrol?: Anyone who is 16 years or older, unless specified in the class description. VCE/VCAL and Language/Literacy courses require an interview with the coordinator prior to enrolment.
